James Williamson partners with consultancies and organisations delivering complex EU communications and stakeholder engagement work.
He acts as a senior strategic counterpart, aligning priorities, guiding key decisions, and ensuring that ambition, stakeholders and delivery remain connected throughout.
With over a decade of experience, he has led large-scale EU communications programmes within leading consultancies including Ecorys and Media Consulta, working directly with European Commission institutions.
His work spans multiple Directorates-General and agencies, including DG CLIMA, DG EMPL, DG HOME, DG RTD and CINEA, across policy areas such as climate action, skills and employment, migration, research and innovation, and child protection.
He has led international teams and coordinated delivery across complex, multi-country environments, working across EU27, EFTA and candidate countries where alignment, consistency, and institutional credibility are critical.
Having worked across Germany, Ireland and the United Kingdom, with ongoing engagement in Brussels, he understands how EU communications operates in practice, not just in theory.
James holds a degree in Politics and German from the University of Sheffield and works fluently in German, supporting effective collaboration across international teams.
